Referee Undiano Mallenco chose not to show Ramos a red card for hitting Messi's face, sparking outrage from fans and experts.

Sergio Ramos escaped a red card against Barcelona because the referee did not believe Messi's claims about the Spaniard slapping his face.

Spanish TV show "El Día Después" showed in detail how things went down between Ramos, Messi and referee Undiano Mallenco just before halftime, when Ramos dribbled past Messi, but also hit the Argentine with his left arm.

Footage collected by the Spanish TV show reveals that the ref shoved off Barcelona players by stating that Messi had "taken a dive" while refusing to look at the Video Assistant Referee.

Should the Spanish ref be punished for his reluctance to look at the monitor after such a disappointing performance?
