The latest round in the Premier League began with an explosive game, as Tottenham hosted Arsenal in the weekend's early kick-off. This Wembley showdown did not disappoint, with a lot of drama unfolded en route to a 1-1 draw.
Aaron Ramsey broke the deadlock in the first half, rounding off Hugo Lloris to give the away side a lead. Things remained that way until the break, but Spurs eventually found the equalizer in the second half.
Harry Kane converted from the spot to even things out courtesy of a penalty before all mayhem broke loose towards the end. Another spot-kick was awarded with only a few minutes remaining on the clock, but Lloris saved Aubameyang's poor effort. A while later, Lucas Torreira was sent off for a horrendous tackle on Danny Rose.
However, it was Kane's strike that will forever remain in history. The reason for this is that the Englishman broke the North London Derby goalscoring record with his 74th-minute strike.

The Tottenham superstar overtook Emmanuel Adebayor as the all-time top scorer in North London Derby history with that goal, his ninth in this fixture. However, many were unhappy with the spot kick and rightly so.
While the 25-year-old was fouled in the box courtesy of a push in the back from Mustafi, the Englishman was offside for the set-piece. Unfortunately, this went unnoticed and the linesman thus failed to flag him.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their outrage, as the importance of VAR in the Premier League was once again highlighted. Check out the best tweets below.

Kane offside. Spurs penalty. Incorrect decisions benefitting them again.

Kane is offside and wins a penalty. Please can we have VAR.
— Mark. (@MarkBFoot) March 2, 2019
Of course Spurs we’re going to get a penalty when Kane was offside. Could put your house on it.

Still, Premier League embarrassed yet again it voted against VAR for this season. Ref a disaster today. Kane offside for Spurs penalty, Vertonghen encroaching by a mile on Aubameyang’s penalty, Torreira challenge never a read card. Officials cost Arsenal today.

FIVE (5) Tottenham players are offside in this picture and Kane is the most offside of them all. Who was the linesman tracking, Hugo Lloris? pic.twitter.com/i9DqX3vDcY

All over.

Fair result.
Didn't think it was a red card.
Didn't think Tottenham's penalty was (Kane offside).
Didn't think Arsenal's penalty was.
Never fancied Aubameyang to score.
Lacazette miss...
Sanchez had a stinker.
Think it's far a barge in the back of Kane from Mustafi. So soft, Kane offside as well.

Again @premierleague clubs embarrassed by their pathetic failure to vote in VAR this season (arriving next season). Clear offside on Kane. Unseen. Mustafi’s serial, poor defending costs #afc again. Ruthless pen from Kane #thfc. 1-1.

Offsides Harry Kane penalty and Vertonghen so far into the box before the penalty taken. Penalty not given, offsides ruled and penalty retaken respectively. But we don’t need VAR with the brilliant officials you employ @FA. #TOTARS pic.twitter.com/jtQhIBHBN9
