Whether it was due to injuries or technical decisions, there will be some shocking absences in Wednesday's game.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to play the crucial Copa del Rey clash between them on Wednesday, but sadly, not all of their footballers could make themselves available for this tie.

Both managers have made their decisions, and fans might be baffled by some of their squad choices ahead of such a crucial match.

Barcelona was the first team to reveal their squad list for Wednesday's game. Ernesto Valverde had hinted that Jasper Cillessen and Arthur could be available to play, and both men made it into the team's squad for Wednesday's game.

The team's major absences are two supposed reinforcements Barcelona signed during the winter transfer window: Kevin Prince-Boateng and Jeison Murillo. Apparently, none of them would give Los Blaugranas an edge over Los Blancos, which is why coach Valverde decided to snub them.

On the other side of the pitch, Santiago Solari has made up his mind in regards to the squad that will play against their bitter rivals. The team's list of players was leaked by Marca, with the major absence being none other than Isco.

The Malaga-born player has found it hard to earn playing time since Solari's appointment, and the player's talent will not be around for Real Madrid to use. The other first-team players to get snubbed are Mariano, Brahim Díaz (yet another winter transfer) and the injury-prone Jesús Vallejo.
