Current form: Dortmund vs Leverkusen
With Bayern narrowly winning their fixture against Hertha Berlin earlier on Saturday, Dortmund will now be under pressure to pick up a victory against Leverkusen. Dortmund, of course, are seeking to finally end Bayern's stranglehold on the league title, and so far, it's been a very successful domestic campaign for Lucien Favre's side. So far, his team have lost just once in the league, but the past few month has seen them pick up some disappointing results. In addition to the three straight draws, including a frustrating scoreless stalemate versus Nurnberg last week, they are in danger of being dumped out early of the Champions League following a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham in the first leg of their round of 16 tie. Furthermore, die Schwarzgelben are also out of the DFB-Pokal after falling to Werder Bremen on spot-kicks, and so at this point, the only trophy that is really within grasp is the Bundesliga title.
This game will be very interesting for current Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz, who will have his own motives for getting the better over his former employers. Bosz was notably sacked back in December 2017 after Dortmund crashed out of their Champions League group without a single win, and thus ended up dropping into the Europa League.
A year later, the Dutch tactician was back in Germany as Leverkusen aimed to turn things around in the table after hitting a rough patch under Heiko Herrlich. Since Bosz's appointment in January, die Werkself have shown significant signs of improvement; following their 1-0 defeat to Borussia Moenchengladbach in his first game in charge, they went on to win their next four games, including beating Bayern Munich.
Although they are out of the Pokal and the Europa League, Leverkusen's strong home form certainly is something Dortmund will be noting carefully ahead of the two sides' meeting at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday. But with the visitors on a roll under the leadership of a new manager, and Dortmund stuttering, could this game be a banana peel for the hosts?

Dortmund: Both Marco Reus and Lukasz Piszczek will miss this game due to injury; Reus's absence in particular is a huge blow as the German international, who has struggled with injuries in the past, was enjoying one of his most successful campaigns so far. Reus, who has been directly involved in 19 goals for Dortmund this term (13 goals, six assists) will likely be joined on the sidelines by fellow attacker Christian Pulisic, who is still recovering from a thigh problem.
Leverkusen: Panagiotis Retsos, Karim Bellarabi, and Joel Pohjanpalo are all definite absentees for the visitors. However, Lars Bendner could make his return from injury, but will have to pass a late fitness test prior to Sunday's clash.
