Boy, does Luis Suárez struggle when having to score away goals in UEFA Champions League games for Barcelona!
The Uruguayan striker was slammed by fans and experts today, as he completed one more disappointing outing with Barcelona against Olympique Lyon. The game ended in a goalless draw, and Suárez is one of many who should take the blame for an unflattering result away from home.
Barcelona tried, but the team was not as accurate as needed to get past Anthony Lopes. The French goalie denied Los Blaugranas' efforts over and over, but Suárez's performance in front of goal was nothing to be proud of. Four attempts, with only one of them needing to be saved.
But this shouldn't come as a surprise for fans around the world, since Suárez has failed to convert a goal or hand out an assist away from Camp Nou in UEFA Champions League in almost FOUR years. His latest goal came against Roma in September 2015, which gives us an idea on why Los Blaugranas have failed to make it to the finals since their 2014-15 triumph.
24h - As of the 22nd minute of tonight's game against Lyon, Luis Suarez has gone a full day of game time (1440 minutes) without scoring away from home in the Champions League, last netting against Roma in September 2015. Strange. pic.twitter.com/7mzz0w03AO

There's good news and bad news for Barcelona. Their next game will be played at home, which means that Suárez could find the back of the net. The bad news is that if Lyon scores, they will be forced to win that game no matter what. Just in case you were interested, Suárez's goalscoring tally this season in UCL games is nothing to be scared about.
