The Paris Saint-Germain winger has apparently gotten away with the swearing incident on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria has escaped a sanction from UEFA after he appeared to have shouted "f*** off" at the Manchester United fans during his side's 2-0 victory at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

The former Red Devil was subjected to boos and jeers throughout the proceeding and was even taunted more after he took a heavy fall following a shove by Ashley Young in the first half. Nonetheless, Di Maria successfully silenced the home fans by providing both assists for the goals scored by Paris Saint-Germain.

Perhaps, brimmed with emotions, the Argentine was pictured shouting "f*** off" and swearing in Spanish in the direction of the United supporters. Following the end of the encounter, there were talks of the attacker potentially being banned for the incident.

Di Maria's actions were said to be in line with Article 15 of UEFA's Disciplinary Regulations which stipulates that players can be penalized for "insulting players or others present at the match" and/or "provoking spectators.

However, the occurrence was reportedly not indicated in the official match report, meaning Di Maria will be eligible to feature in the return leg at the Parc des Princes.

In another subplot, the Argentine went viral by making a gesture of drinking from a beer bottle which was flung at him by a fan while attempting a corner-kick. Speaking in response to the treatment he received at Old Trafford, Di Maria said: "It was difficult from the opening minute but I knew this was going to happen.

"But I've said it in the past and I reiterate it, I never spoke badly of the people here and of this club.

"These are things that happen and people took it badly. I only had problems with the coach [Louis van Gaal] here."
