The Red Devils are yet to meet the demands of the Spanish shot stopper.

Manchester United and the club's goalkeeper David De Gea are reportedly in a contractual standoff with the latter refusing to budge on his high wage demand.

The Spanish shot stopper's current deal will expire at the end of the season and the Red Devils are said to be interested in offering him a long-term deal to keep him at the club after they triggered a one-year extension clause in November to prevent him talking to other clubs during the winter transfer window.

According to UK outlet Mirror, De Gea is prepared to commit his future to Manchester United albeit for the right price. As a result, the former Atletico Madrid goalie is bent on becoming the club's second-highest earner with a salary of £350,000 per week. Currently, Alexis Sanchez tops the wages list with £400,000-a-week.

Nonetheless, United is reportedly hesitant to meet the demands of Spaniard although the club remains confident of brokering a deal in the near future.

The arrival of interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given the English outfit a general facelift and one of such is the club's ability to keep hold of its stars.

In recent times, the likes of Anthony Martial, Phil Jones, and Ashley Young have all been handed new contracts, hinting at the club's keenness to keep its core members in the rebuilding process.
