Bale scores 100th goal for Real Madrid

Bale joins elite goalscoring club at Real Madrid in victory against Atlético

February 9, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The Welsh ace came in for Vinicius for the last 30 minutes of playing time, and he made the most out of them with a stunning goal.

The Welsh striker is officially back.

Gareth Bale helped Real Madrid end Atlético's unbeaten run in La Liga by scoring the third goal in Los Blancos' 3-1 win at Wanda Metropolitano. Bale's strike came after a nice through ball by Luka Modric, which the Welshman controlled and placed into the lower left-hand corner of Jan Oblak's net.

What made that goal special is that Bale joined an elite goalscoring list by finding the back of the net for 100th time with the Spanish giants. After such an injury-plagued stint with Los Blancos, Bale has finally made it past the 100th goal barrier.

Bale is the 20th player in Real Madrid history to reach such a milestone. He is one goal short from surpassing Chilean striker Ivan Zamorano, and he could also leapfrog Brazilian legend Ronaldo if he can score five more goals this season.
