Families for both men on board of the ill-fated plane are waiting for the final tests to determine the identity of the corpse.

Emiliano Sala's heart-breaking story nears its end. British authorities revealed that the body found inside the wreckage had been retrieved safely in the early hours of Thursday, and its identity will be revealed in the next few hours by forensic authorities.

The Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) issued a statement once the unidentified body was recovered.

"In challenging conditions, the AAIB and its specialist contractors successfully recovered the body previously seen amidst the wreckage. The operation was carried out in as dignified a way as possible and the families were kept informed of progress," the release stated.

The ambulance carried the unidentified body to Portland, Dorset in order to have it tested and identified.

Hours later, the AAIB revealed that the search for more bodies has concluded due to the complicated weather conditions, added to the inability to find the other body, which is believed to be somewhere in the ocean.

"The coroner will investigate the circumstances of this death supported by Dorset police. A postmortem examination will be held in due course. While formal identification is yet to take place, the families of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson have been updated and will continue to be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers, during this difficult time," a new press release said.
