The hearing where the Portuguese boss was sentenced came to an end in a matter of minutes.

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was sentenced to one year in jail and to pay a $2.5M fine to Spanish tax authorities. The good news for the Special One is that he will not have to serve time behind bars since he is a first-time offender.

Mourinho's sentence comes after the former Real Madrid boss failed to declare income taxes from his image rights in 2011 and 2012. Although the total amount reached a total of $3.7M, Mourinho's lawyers worked a better deal for their client, which forces him to pay $2.5M.

The Portuguese tactician appeared in front of the Spanish court for a few minutes, since the deal had already been reached between both sides.

Mourinho is currently out of a job, but there has been talk about a comeback to Real Madrid in the next few months. Maybe having all of his financial affairs in order was the first step to clear his path back to the Bernabeu...
