The Reds drew first blood after they got away with an offside call in the build up.

Liverpool fortuitously took the lead in Monday's Premier League meeting with West Ham after an offside call was overlooked by the match officials. The Reds approached the encounter with optimism to reestablish the five-point gap between themselves and second placed Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp's side took big strides to make claim of the three points on display at the London Stadium with Sadio Mane opening the scoring inside the 22nd minute. However, it is the build-up towards the goal that has stirred up a massive frenzy on social media.

The final movement to set up the goal featured midfielder Adam Lallana who created the chance for James Milner to assist Mane for the goal. However, Milner appeared to have been a few miles offside before receiving the ball from his compatriot. Watch the incident in the video below (geo-restrictions may apply):

Nonetheless, the euphoria in the away stands last for only a moment with Michall Antonio restoring parity for West Ham six minutes after Mane's strike. The Hammers had the opportunity to go ahead a few minutes ahead of the half-time break through Declan Rice but the youngster saw his effort from a free-header just graze past the Liverpool goal post.
