The Gunners have finally reached an agreement with the Catalan club for the service of the Spanish midfielder.

Dennis Suarez is on the verge of joining Arsenal in the English Premier League after Barcelona accepted a bid from the Gunners. The Emirates Stadium outfit tabled an offer to secure the service of the Spanish midfielder on loan as it is unable to sign any player in the winter transfer window on a permanent basis due to the lack of funds.

According to multiple reports, negotiations between both Barcelona and Arsenal is in its final stage and the latter is said to have asked for an 'option to buy' clause to be included in the deal. However, a consensus is yet to be reached with Barcelona rather opting for a clause which will oblige the Gunners to purchase Denis Suarez at the end of his loan stint.

The 25-year-old Spanish midfielder has struggled to get minutes this season, featuring in just eight games for the Blaugrana. He, as a result, made his intention to join Arsenal known to Barca although he was reportedly offered to a few clubs in La Liga.

On Tuesday, head coach of the Catalans Ernesto Valverde confirmed that Suarez is indeed on the move.

"I know Denis was in this situation. It's not official yet and we have to wait for a little while," Valverde told a news conference.

"It was a possibility that everyone valued, and we hope that things go well. He is a very important player.

"He has been showing that throughout these last few years. There is no doubt, but to guess the future is to go too far.

"He is essential for us."

A report by Spanish outlet Cadena COPE suggests that Denis Suarez has agreed to a one-year contract extension with Barcelona ahead of his switch to the English Premiership. As a result, his contract is expected to end in 2021 should Arsenal fail to buy him at the end of his loan stint.

Suarez previously worked under Unai Emery during the 2014/2015 season when the current Arsenal boss was in charge of Sevilla.
