The La Liga ace admitted that his family life has been altered by his young ones, especially Thiago, who understands a bit of football now.

Football fans around the world have made a habit out of criticizing players around the world. Those who are often referred to as the best in the business tend to get a lot of heat, such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. But when it comes to the latter, no critic around the world will be as harsh as one that lives in his own home: his first-born, Thiago.

Speaking in an interview with World Soccer magazine, Messi revealed that his first two children, Thiago and Mateo, are quite fond of the beautiful game. With that in mind, it is no surprise to learn that Thiago likes to discuss details of what goes on in his father's career, sometimes with the young boy providing some of the harshest comments ever heard by his famous father.

"Yes, we talk about it. Let me tell you I've received my fair share of criticism! He follows Barcelona, La Liga games and UEFA Champions League matches. He likes it, he asks questions about it and he is sure to let me know what he thinks when we are not doing so well on the pitch," Messi said.

The all-time top scorer in the Spanish top flight went on to reveal how things have changed at home, since football was a forbidden subject whenever his teams lost. The international superstar admitted that Thiago's desire to know everything about the game has forced him to change that "rule".

"We tried to avoid talking about it, but it's not possible anymore. It's always hard to digest a tough loss or a bad performance, but Thiago forces me to comment on what happened. He demands explanations on why we did not win. Now, we talk way more about what happened in all of our games," Messi added.
