Qatar will make its debut in the competition, with Japan being the other invited team.

The stage is set and the groups have been drawn. The 2019 Copa América is here.

The oldest national team competition in the world returns after a three-year hiatus, and it will do so in one of the countries where this sport is treated like a religion: Brazil. Today, former footballers such as Javier Zanetti, Cafú, Zico and Marta determined each team's fate in the group stage.

The 2019 edition will have two invited countries from the Asian Football Confederation. Japan returns to this competition after being invited in 1999, while Qatar is set to make their debut in the tournament.

The group stage will have some epic showdowns between South American titans, such as Argentina -with Lionel Messi around- facing Colombia and Uruguay set to lock horns against Chile. Brazil was drawn in Group A alongside Bolivia, Venezuela and Perú.

Here are the results of the 2019 Copa América draw.

The tournament will kick off with a re-edition of the 1997 final between Brazil and Bolivia on June 14 at Morumbi Stadium. The group stage will conclude on June 24 with the games Ecuador vs Japan and Chile vs Uruguay. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on July 7 at the historic Maracaná Stadium.
