The veteran Bavarian winger has a few words of advice for the Chelsea youngster.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has asked Chelsea's prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi to take a bold step if he aims to achieve great things in his career. The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich recent weeks after being used sparingly this season by Maurizio Sarri despite impressing in the pre-season for the Blues.

According to multiple reports, the England U21 star has his heart set on a move to the Allianz Arena although Chelsea has purportedly rejected a series of bids submitted by the German club to secure the service of the youngster. With Arjen Robben set end his career at Bayern Munich upon the conclusion of the season, Odoi has been tipped as his potential successor.

Speaking to beIN, the 34-year-old ex-Chelsea player advised the young winger to grab the chance beckoning.

"For young players, it's always the same. First, you have to take the big step to achieve it. Become a professional football player at the highest level, get into the first team, get your place.

"Then, second, which can be more important, what's sometimes missing is that you have to stay there. Staying there is often more difficult than actually becoming a footballer in the first place.

"You have to prove it, game after game, season after season and don't be happy. Don't just be happy when you achieve something little or small."

Arjen Robben joined Chelsea in 2004 from PSV and ended his three-year stint with the Blues by winning two Premier League trophies. He subsequently joined Real Madrid in 2007 and, following an unsuccessful spell, moved to Bayern Munich in 2009.
