Cristiano Ronaldo hints at potential Juventus exit

Cristiano Ronaldo hints at potential Juventus exit

January 8, 2019 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The 33-year-old forward has revealed where he could be playing next when he ends his spell with the Old Ladies.

Cristiano Ronaldo has put talks of finishing his career at Juventus to bed with his latest comments about his future. The Portuguese superstar, who joined the Bianconeri last summer from Real Madrid in a deal worth a reported $129.3 million, opened the door to possibly returning to his boyhood club Sporting C. P.

Currently, Ronaldo ranks as the top-goalscorer in the Italian Serie A after managing 14 goals in 18 appearances for Juventus. In between, he has also registered five assists.

While his current contract will keep him at Juventus till 2022, Ronaldo was adamant to commit his future to the club. Asked whether he will follow in the footsteps of his former Manchester United teammate and move to the club he made his profession debut, the former Real Madrid attacker said: "Will I go back to Sporting like Nani? In football, you never know. … It was the right decision to leave the national [team] momentarily, but I'll be back in 2019," he said in an interview with Record.

"Everyone in Turin welcomed me in a fantastic way. We're all feeling very good. I don't know when my career will end, but I'm fine and I want to keep going for many more years."

On his experience in the Serie A so far, Cristiano Ronaldo added: "I don't work to break records, rather I work for the good of the club.

"2018 was the best year of my career. In Serie A they mark me as tightly as they do in Spain, but there's less space here because all the teams have an excellent defense."
