Rooney aims swing at Mou after sacking

Man United legend describes bad relationship between Mou and his players

December 24, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
The Red Devils' all-time top scorer had some less than flattering words about his former boss in an interview.

Football clubs around the world should be aware: Jose Mourinho might be successful on the pitch, but things away from it might get a bit tense.

The coach's sacking is still being a major topic of discussion, and one authoritative voice joined to slam Mou's legacy with the Red Devils.

That legend is none other than Wayne Rooney, who blasted The Special One for his poor people skills not only around his players, but also with the team's backroom staff, according to an interview with BT Sport.

"When it comes to Mourinho, I am sure that Ed Woodward believes the same as everyone else inside the club. Not even the team's cooks and utility men were happy with him," Rooney said.

The player, who was let go by Mourinho soon after he became Man United's all-time top scorer, admitted that even if Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is not the best coach out there, he might get the best out of his players due to their current mood, which has surely changed after Mou's departure.

"In football, to be successful, you need to be happy and have everything going your way. All players seem to be happy, they are already smiling again. It's a good move by the club, and I'm sure that it will be exciting to see how Ole sets his team up and how they play," Rooney added.
