The German boss made this confession after Friday's 2-0 win over Wolves, as the Reds maintained their unbeaten run ahead of the festive period.

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign on Friday in the Matchday 18 opener, beating Wolves 2-0. Goals from Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk secured all three points, as the Reds showed no signs of stopping in their quest of the Premier League title.

However, Klopp admitted after the game that his side will have to pull off something nearly impossible in order to end their wait for the league crown. The German boss argued that his men must break the record for the highest-point tally in a single season to be crowned champion.

Currently, that record belongs to Man City. Guardiola's crew achieved that feat last season by racking up 100 points in an unforgettable campaign. However, due to the competition, Klopp feels Liverpool must surpass that figure or risk missing out on the title.

Jurgen said (as per the Mirror): "Other teams such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal are all winning as well.

"That is the season, no-one from the top five really drops points and at the end of the season you probably need 105 or so to be champions."

The Merseyside giant is yet to lose a single game so far this term and heads into the festive period on top of the standings. Nonetheless, for Salah and Co. to reach the 105-point mark, they can only drop three points from now until the end of the season.

This will be difficult given that they will have to travel to Man City and Man United, with the trip to the Etihad being their first game in January. Klopp thus called for cool heads, as he aims to maintain this form en route to the title.
