The French boss is one of the main candidates to take the permanent job as Man United boss following Mourinho's sacking.

The rumor mill will be fueled for quite some time, but it seems that some of those claims have to be taken seriously.

According to a report by As, Zinedine Zidane is edging closer to become Manchester United's permanent boss starting next summer after receiving an offer from Ed Woodward. The Frenchman is allegedly considering the offer seriously, especially since former Red Devils' manager Sir Alex Ferguson is behind his signing.

Zidane is available to work since he left Real Madrid last summer, but he refused to work this year to enjoy some time off with his family. The former midfielder has been linked with several clubs such as the Red Devils, Juventus, and even to the French National Team, but the English side seems to be the frontrunner in the race to sign him.

Zidane's involvement with the English giants may start on June 2019, but if a deal is reached soon, the Frenchman might have a hand in the team's winter transfers, since those players will most likely be around if he ends up taking the job.
