The Red Devils attacker used the Liverpool goalkeeper’s mistake to his side’s advantage.

Manchester United was drawn back into Sunday's epic showdown with Liverpool kind courtesy a goal by Jesse Lingard. The English midfielder who turned 26 the day before was the quickest to react after Alisson Becker made a mess of a save.

Manchester United was made to chase the game earlier after Sadio Mane brilliantly finished off a well-timed overhead pass from Fabinho in the 24th-minute. Having failed to create any goal scoring opportunity throughout the proceeding, the Red Devils got their chance nine minutes after Liverpool had opened the scoring.

A cross from an unmarked Romelu Lukaku on the right flank was spilled by Allison inside his penalty area and the Brazilian shot-stopper was made to pay for the error with Jesse Lingard swiftly tapping the ball home.  

Prior to the kick-off of Sunday's dread encounter, the Allison boasted an impressive 10 clean sheets in the Premiership. According to Opta, the former AS Roma goalie has made the same number of errors (2) leading to goals in the league this season as Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius collectively managed in 2017-18.
