Mourinho aims dig at current Liverpool side

Mourinho aims dig at Liverpool when asked if this is the best Reds side he has faced

December 16, 2018 By Ali M.
This comes ahead of the Red Devils' trip to Anfield later on Sunday.

Sunday's Liverpool vs Man United clash is probably the most anticipated game of this weekend. Historical rivals who were once the two of the best teams in the world, Anfield will now welcome a Red Devils side struggling to meet expectations.

The 20-time Premier League champion currently sits in sixth in the standings partly thanks to their torrid start to the season. While there have been some impressive results, Man United's performance remains poor, with fans still yearning for the glory, glory days they became accustomed to under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Many point the finger to Jose Mourinho, with the Special One being called the culprit for the team's boring football. While Liverpool under Klopp constantly entertains their supporters, the Portuguese boss was still able to aim a dig at Sunday's opponent.

Jose sat down with Soccer AM for a pre-match interview in which he discussed the Merseyside giant. When asked whether if this is the best Liverpool side he has faced, he was quick to point at the team's trophy count. In case you are wondering, that tally is zero.

The Special One was leaning for the Reds side that won the Champions League back in 2005, which is probably the fairest answer. However, the 55-year-old probably took pleasure in undermining Klopp's highly-praised team while Mourinho continues to be criticized despite having won three titles at Old Trafford.

Fast-forward to the fifth minute to watch Mourinho's answer

Nonetheless, beating Salah and Co. will not be easy for Man United. They are yet to be beaten this season and could reclaim top spot from Man City with a home win, but the away side will give it their all to avoid that.
