Everything seemed to be in place for Milan to battle for the UEFA Europa League title...but Olympiakos had something to say about it.
The Greek side shocked Milan and defeated them with one of the scores the rossoneri needed to avoid, since a two-goal loss would kick them out of the competition. To make matters worse, Milan had done their homework correctly, but they ended up conceding three times in 30 minutes to see their luck running out.
This will also be a historic moment for Milan for all the wrong reasons.
AC Milan fail to progress from a European (first) group stage (CL/EL) for the first time since 1999/2000. #EuropaLeague #ACMilan

The Italian side failed to end their hoodoo when playing in Greece, since they had played five games without any wins prior to this match. Today's loss adds to their previous four draws and a defeat, making it more complicated to defend Gennaro Gattuso's spot as their tactician.
There were fans and experts speaking about this game on social media, and everyone agreed that Milan got what they deserved after such a woeful performance.
AC Milan deserved to be knocked out. Simple as that.

I'm not upset about going out. I would've preferred to advance tbh. However, Milan never looked convincing throughout the entire group stage. Especially after tonight. They need to be better, simple as that.
