Fans on social media have questioned Jose Mourinho's decision to drop both Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku in Wednesday's crunch encounter against Arsenal.
The duo was involved in the weekend's 2-2 draw at the St Mary's against Southampton and was subjected to criticism for their atypical performance. Paul Pogba in particular was reportedly branded as a "virus" in the changing room by Jose Mourinho following the end of the proceeding.
Per multiple reports on Tuesday, the two clashed at training once again. Prior to the kick-off of Wednesday's clash with Arsenal, Jose Mourinho revealed that the decision to omit both Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba was purely "tactical and technical" contrary to the popular narrative which suggests that the Portuguese was only trying to get back at the latter amid their apparent rift.
"You know, [it's] technical and tactical decisions," Mourinho said.
"We're going to play with Lingard, Rashford, and Martial. We did that already before I think recently against Young Boys. We weren't successful in goals we wanted to score but were happy with the situations we created.
"In the first half versus Young Boys, we didn't score but had big chances. [They're] young, fast, creative players even if they're not what you'd call "killer" who when has chance scores a goal."
Jose Mourinho may have justified his decision but fans on social media are not having any of the happenings. Below are a few reactions:

No matter how bad Mourhino is right now as à manger, I've got to git it to him, he is bold. I don't know many managers that will leave Pogba and Lukaku on the bench for this game.#UnitedArsenal pic.twitter.com/da72bE9pzm
No Pogba, Lukaku or Sanchez in this big game. Mourinho might be headed to the Coaching Hall of Fame after he hangs up his coaching coats, but his transfers have been abject failures...
