The Man United boss denied claims he had another go at the Frenchman, but several sources report otherwise.

Just as things appeared to cool down between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho, the two have reportedly butt heads once again ahead of their clash with Arsenal. According to the rumors, the Frenchman aired his dissent towards the team's defensive-minded approach to the manager.

As written by the Times, the Portuguese boss was unhappy with his team after their 2-2 draw with Southampton. His men fought back from two-nil down to come away with a point, but he was livid at seeing the Red Devils drop another two points.

The Special One let go at his players in the dressing room, reportedly criticizing Pogba and his other midfielders for being reckless with possession. The Daily Mail claims that this rant was not a rant singling out the World Cup winner, but the 25-year-old responded by criticizing Jose's tactics.

Pogba was not happy with seeing both McTominay and Matic focused on the defensive aspect of their St. Mary's Stadium trip. The former Juventus ace argued that this approach left him with few passing options, hence his abysmal game.

This comes amid reports Mourinho labeled Pogba a "virus" in another heated exchange of words. While Jose refused to openly discuss that issue, the manager all but stated that there is no truth in the speculation.

Nonetheless, the odds of another dressing-room falling out could rise given that an upturn in form is nowhere near sight. Man United is without a win in their last three English top-flight games, drawing with Crystal Palace and Southampton after their 3-1 Manchester Derby defeat.

Next up for the 20-time champion is a home clash with Unai Emery's in-form side. The Old Trafford side sits in seventh, eight points adrift of the final Champions League spot, and will thus need a victory to remain within touching distance of the top four.
