Liverpool held Sparta Praha 0-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night. The Reds failed to get an away goal, but defender Jamie Carragher still believes Liverpool has the advantage.
Defeating the English giants at Anfield is a very difficult task for almost any team in Europe, and having found their confident form under Coach Kenny Dalglish, the Reds believe that the result of their battle against the Czechs on aggregate will be in their favour. Speaking to Five, Carragher said:

"A 0-0 draw away from home is always a decent result, but you would like the away goal of course. But it is an advantage for us. We just have to make sure they don't get the away goal now."

Liverpool have seen major improvements in recent weeks in their previously-weakened defensive areas. Scoring will now be the main challenge in the second leg, but the return of the team’s top players—who were absent in the opening leg—could make the tie even easier for Dalglish’s men at Anfield.

“The manager changed a few players around, so it was a good experience for a few players,” Carragher went on to say. “But now we just have to make sure that we do the job at Anfield.”
