Hazard hints at summer exit once again

Eden Hazard opens the door for a summer Chelsea exit once more

November 26, 2018 By Ali M.
However, he has ruled out a return to Ligue 1.

Once again, Eden Hazard has hinted at a possible Chelsea exit as rumors surrounding his future continue to spiral. The Belgian ace is nearing the end of his contract with the club and has thus been linked with an array of teams, with the man himself yet to make a decision.

The Belgian superstar is in the last 18 months of his Stamford Bridge agreement and while he ruled out a January exit, he left the door open for a summer departure. Speaking to Canal Plus, the Premier League ace said (as per the Guardian):

"For now I'm staying at Chelsea. I have one year left in June. If I don't extend, it [a move] is possible. I can't see myself leaving in January. I wouldn't do that to the club, to the fans.

"Next summer it's a possibility, but it's also possible that I spend the rest of my career at Chelsea."

Hazard has gone back and forth on the idea of remaining in London several times before only to flirt with a transfer. This will be music to the ears of Real Madrid, a club reportedly keen on landing the former Lille sensation.

With Cristiano Ronaldo gone, Florentino Perez is eager to acquire a Galactico and has his eyes on the 27-year-old. It had been suggested that they will face competition from PSG, but Eden has revealed that ain't the case.

The former Ligue 1 champion admitted that there has been contact with the French giant but has ruled out a move to Parc des Princes. The reason: there is only one club in France he will join.

While these comments will worry Chelsea fans, there is enough to hand the board hope in their bid to tie him down to a new contract. Hazard has been instrumental for Sarri's men this season, scoring seven goals and assisting another four in the English top-flight alone.
