N'Golo Kante has ended rumors of a Chelsea exit by committing his future to the London giant. The midfielder had been linked with a move away from the Bridge but has now put pen to paper on a contract extension with his current employers.
The World Cup winner has signed a new deal that will keep him with the Blues until 2023. Furthermore, he is in for a pay raise, with his wages set to jump to approximately $372,000 per week.

This new five-year deal will go a long way in killing interest from other clubs. One side that has been linked with the 27-year-old is PSG but they will now find it difficult to pry to midfielder away from Stamford Bridge.
Kante has been an influential member of the Chelsea squad since day one. Upon joining from Leicester City, he immediately became an integral member in the starting eleven and was crucial to their impressive 2016/17 Premier League win.
He was named PFA Player of the Season that year and became a force to be reckoned with. In his second season with Chelsea, he lifted the FA Cup and was named the club's Player of the Year.
Thus it comes as little surprise to see him thrilled to remain in London. "I'm happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time," the Frenchman told the club's official website.
Club director Marina Granovskaia not only hailed his brilliance on the pitch but also stated the obvious by underlining his humility despite his status in world football. She said:
"Off the pitch, he remains a dedicated professional and a humble human being despite the fact he is a world champion and a two-time Premier League winner. We now look forward to five more years with N'Golo at the heart of the Chelsea midfield."
Kante was instrumental in France's World Cup success, most notably stopping Messi in their 3-2 round of 16 wins over Argentina. His importance for his club this season hasn't wavered despite playing in a new role, helping maintain Maurizio Sarri's unbeaten start in the English top-flight.

That run will be put to test once play resumes. The Blues will travel to Tottenham in a highly-anticipated London Derby that could hand the Italian boss his very first defeat in the league.
