Icardi set the pace for the game against Mexico with his early goal, while 'La Joya' sealed the deal with a late counter-attack.

November 20, 2018 will forever be drilled inside the memories of all Argentina fans, as two of their most talented footballers of the post-Messi era have scored their first goals with La Albiceleste.

Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala teamed up to lead Argentina to a 2-0 win over Mexico, which confirmed the South American team's dominance against El Tri.

Icardi was the first to score, sending the ball to the back of Jesús Corona's net after an impressive solo effort.

Then, Dybala came in as Icardi's replacement after 81 minutes, needing six more to open his goalscoring account with the Argentine team.

La Albiceleste's execs will have the entire winter -or summer in Argentina- to decide who takes over as coach. Lionel Scaloni has performed the duties of a caretaker since Jorge Sampaoli's sacking after the World Cup, and judging by these results, there will surely be some voices that will urge AFA's execs to hand him the permanent job. Unfortunately for Scaloni, his appointment has to be sanctioned by Lionel Messi, something that might take more than a smile to accomplish.
