How to watch Chile vs Honduras on November 20, 2018

November 19, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
beIN Sports en Español will broadcast this game in the United States, where La Roja will try to make ammends for their poor display against Costa Rica last Friday.

What has been Chile and Honduras' form ahead of this game?

Chile has played nine friendly games this year. La Roja's stats are level (three wins, three draws, three losses), but two of those defeats have come in their most recent three matches: a 3-0 loss against Perú and a 3-2 defeat against Costa Rica in front of an angry Chilean crowd.

Honduras has worked under two interim bosses this year, with some unfortunate results for the Central American side. Los Catrachos have only won one of their four friendlies in 2018 (a 1-0 win against Panama), with two losses and one draw completing their tally for this year.

Chile vs Honduras - Head-to-head stats

  • This will be the 7th game between the national teams of Chile and Honduras.

  • Chile has won four of the previous six meetings against Los Catrachos.

  • The last game between these teams took place in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. La Roja defeated Honduras with a 1-0 score on June 16, 2010.

  • Both of Honduras' wins against Chile have seen the Central American side beating La Roja by a two-goal margin. Honduras defeated Chile with a 3-1 score back in March 21, 2001. Then, Los Catrachos took home a 2-0 win back in January 18, 2009.

Chile vs Honduras - Players to watch

Junior Fernandes - The Chilean striker has been deemed as a sure starter by coach Reinaldo Rueda, since he believes he can give La Roja an edge over their opponents. Nevertheless, Fernandes' performances on the pitch have been met with criticism by fans and experts, making everyone wonder why Rueda would keep a striker as a starter if he hasn't even scored a goal in 16 caps with La Roja.

Chile vs Honduras controversy - Reinaldo Rueda's last game as La Roja boss?

The Colombian boss has faced serious pressure recently due to his harsh relationship with his players and with the Chilean media. La Roja has won only three of their games since Rueda's appointment as coach, and in the event of a loss against Honduras, it would not be a surprise to see him get the boot. His poor relationship with some of the team's leaders, such as Arturo Vidal and Eduardo Vargas may very well be the cause of his downfall if he can't secure the victory against Los Catrachos.

The Colombian boss went as far as to ask journalists to show him their questions prior to Thursday's presser, in order to have a better idea on what to answer.
