The American youngster is reportedly on the verge of sealing a sensational move to the Blues.

Chelsea is rumored to be close to securing the service of Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic after talks of a contract extension stalled. The 20-year-old is out of contract in 2020 and as a result, the German outfit will be looking to part ways with him before his worth diminishes.

The American sensation was at the top of his game once again when his country took on England in a friendly encounter at Wembley on Thursday night. According to Daily Mail, Chelsea will be pushing to finalize for Pulisic as early January 2019.

This is apparently due to the fact that the threat of an impending ban from FIFA hanging over the head of the Blues. The Stamford Bridge outfit has been accused of recruiting underage players.

On the contrary, the acquisition of Pulisic is not expected to be difficult for the Blues. The midfielder has been sparingly used by the BVB this season partly due to injury and also due to Jadon Sancho's top form in the wide position in recent times.

Prior to the England-USA friendly, Pulisic reiterated that a move to the English Premier League will be a dream come true.

"England, the Premier League, is where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why one day I won't play here,' he told a news conference.

"We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, that's when those things will happen."

Chelsea's Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham are also said to be monitoring the situation of the American youngster although the Blues appear to be front-runners.
