The former Los Blancos footballer spoke to Jorge Valdano about the possibility of making a comeback to his beloved teams.

Iker Casillas' last years at the Bernabeu were filled with controversy. The player's harsh relationship with Jose Mourinho, his last season spent mostly on the bench and a rather disrespectful exit marked the end of one of the most iconic players in Los Blancos' history. But even after being treated that way, the Spaniard would return to the team where everything started without a doubt.

Speaking to Argentine journalist and former player Jorge Valdano, Casillas revealed that if anyone from Los Blancos' front office called him, he'd drop everything to return to what he calls "his home".

"If I got a call from Real Madrid, would I return? Of course! I haven't forgotten about the place where I grew up in," Casillas stated.

The goalkeeper, who is putting up his best season at Porto, also added that he would be "delighted" to return to the Spanish National Team, considering the amount of backlash David De Gea has experienced in his last games with La Roja.

Speaking about his Real Madrid exit, Casillas admitted that he would have liked it to be different, but all in all, it was the right decision for him.

"I think that it was the right thing to do. I believe that if I had stayed at Real Madrid, things would have ended worse for me," the footballer added.

The 37-year-old's contract with Porto comes to an end this season. The player has been linked to a move to the MLS, but maybe he is planning a comeback to the Spanish capital. Only time will tell if he will get a proper farewell from his boyhood club or not.
