Added to Alexis Sánchez's alleged desire to leave, the Red Devils want to boost their defense with two new signings.

Even if Jose Mourinho's time at Manchester United may end with the season, the Red Devils' hierarchy will try to give their coach the best tools available to try and boost the team's chances this winter, according to a report by the Daily Telegraph.

After a disappointing summer transfer window, Manchester United chairman Ed Woodward seems to have understood that his team needs some additions to try and compete with some top-caliber squads in the EPL. With that in mind, the English chairman is ready to attempt the signing of either Toby Alderweireld or Milan Skriniar, currently playing for Tottenham and Inter Milan, respectively.

But in order to make those moves possible, the team needs to offload those players who are surplus to their requirements. Such is the case of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo, who have allegedly been given a green light to start searching for employment as soon as possible.

Bailly was Mourinho's first signing when he took over the team's managerial duties. Rojo arrived one year prior to Mourinho's signing, but he has never been able to lock a spot as one of the team's regular defenders, mainly due to fitness issues. Both players were allowed to negotiate their future last summer, but the team's lack of success in finding suitable replacements for them allowed both footballers to stay. Now, Manchester United's bosses seem to be willing to let them go at any cost, so they can fund more signings.
