A total of 79 Cup matches per season is expected to be streamed exclusively on ESPN+.

The 2018-2019 Emirates FA Cup season officially kicked off on ESPN+ on Friday, November 9 with the Round 1 encounter between Haringey Borough and AFC Wimbledon. The latter won via a 1-0 scoreline in the single-leg match-up.

Action in the English cup competitions continues on Saturday through to Monday with seven other First Round matches lined up. Maidenhead United vs. Portsmouth FC stood as the highlight game of the weekend's games considering the visitors had won the trophy twice (1939 and 2008).

Having been dubbed as favorites, Portsmouth emerged victors via 4-0 scoreline. Newport County subsequently won 2-0 away from home against a 10-man Metropolitan Police side in the second game on ESPN+ on Saturday.

This weekend's coverage marks the first set of 79 FA Cup matches ESPN+ will be airing throughout the season. The competition's final is scheduled for May 18 at the Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom.
