Tuchel reveals the two areas PSG must improve upon ahead of Monaco test

November 10, 2018 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
Despite his side boasting a 12-game winning streak, the German manager remains wary of the quality in Monaco's ranks.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel has highlighted the areas he wants his team to enrich ahead of Sunday's trip to AS Monaco. The 45-year-old manager, despite his team momentarily enjoying a 12-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1, recognizes the threat present in the ranks of the host amid their recent struggles.

Thierry Henry's men have endured a tough start to the league season and presently ranks 19th on the table after winning just one of the 12 matches they have played so far. While the Gunners' legend seeks to find the antidote to the defects in his side, Thomas Tuchel has emphasized that PSG still has to play to its best and, as such, must improve in areas such as passing and pressing.

"Monaco is a big Ligue 1 club and it's dangerous to play there," he stated at his press conference on Saturday.

"They have a lot of individual quality. Lopes and Falcao are two top-level forwards. Monaco is in a difficult situation, they have played with a lot of systems and a lot of different players during recent matches.

"It's difficult to prepare for this match because we don't know what they're going to do against us. On the other hand, our priority is to play to our best. We still have a lot to do in terms of our passing, our pressing...It's up to us to show our best face.

"It's a challenge and we have to prepare thoroughly to produce our best performance.

"If we're not ready for every game, it's possible to lose," Tuchel added.

"We have to always play to our best, to have that attitude. The bar is very high and I want us to produce the same performance as against Lille, that we show the same attitude as against Napoli. I expect nothing less."

In-between the massive run of matches won in Ligue 1, Tuchel's PSG has scored 41 goals and has conceded just seven times.
