An Egyptian sculptor called Mai Abdalla was in charge of creating a tribute statue for her compatriot, but her approach was panned throughout the world

Mohamed Salah is known to be a good guy. Time and time again, the Egyptian footballer has shown his good heart to fans who come close to him and ask for a pic, his jersey, or any other gesture. With his local hero fame untarnished, Salah stepped up and did the right thing to give Egyptian sculptor Mai Abdalla a thumbs up for her over-criticized work linked to Salah: a miniature statue that was panned on social media for the past week.

Abdalla's work was compared to the infamous Cristiano Ronaldo bust that can be seen at Madeira's international airport, especially due to the fact that Salah's big head of hair made the artwork look like anything else but Salah.

Earlier today, newspaper Egypt Today revealed that Salah got in touch with Abdalla to praise her job, and even asked her to make one more statue, with the artwork set to embellish the player's home.

"Our hero, our player Mohamed Salah, personally contacted me just now and encouraged me to continue. He asked me not to pay attention to the negative comments and told me that I am a very good artist. He also requested me to take my time in the work of a new statue to put him in his home," Abdalla said.

The design was commissioned to show just how much Salah is looked up to in his homeland, but even if the design went wrong, the player's "people skills" were given one more boost with his actions.
