Real Madrid's multi-millionaire offer to sign Pochettino revealed

November 6, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
The Argentine boss was tempted by Los Blancos' president with one of the best contracts for a coach, but he decided to honor his deal with Tottenham.

Real Madrid's search for a new coach continues, and their latest target turned them down despite a massive offer.

According to a report by The Sun, Real Madrid's president Florentino Pérez tried to lure Mauricio Pochettino away from Tottenham as soon as possible, but the Argentine tactician decided to turn the offer down for a second time this year,

Pochettino was linked to a move away from Spurs during the summer, but the possibility of seeing him coach Los Blancos ended when he signed a contract extension with the English side.

This time, Real Madrid's desperation to sign Mauricio Pochettino saw Florentino Pérez trying to lure the coach away from London with a hefty wage of almost $20M per season.

The report also states that Pochettino decided not to end his term as Tottenham's coach because of the current turmoil inside "La Casa Blanca", with an alleged player mutiny preventing Antonio Conte's arrival after Julen Lopetegui was sacked.

Real Madrid has been reportedly turned down by Antonio Conte and Michael Laudrup in their efforts to replace Lopetegui. Meanwhile, Santiago Solari keeps working as the team's caretaker until Pérez can sign a full-time coach.
