Klopp has opted against signing the soon-to-be free agent for two particular reasons.

Aaron Ramsey, one of Arsenal's most influential players in recent seasons, is destined to leave the club 10 years after moving to the Emirates Stadium. The midfielder's current contract expires next summer, and with a new deal having been taken off the table by his employers, he could leave on a free in a few months.

One club that had been tipped to sign him on a Bosman transfer was Liverpool. The Gunners do not appear ready to extend his stay, meaning the Reds would only have to agree personal terms with the player next year to raid a direct rival. However, reports have now emerged claiming that the Merseyside giant has dropped their interest in the Welshman.

According to the Mirror, there are two reasons for this. The first issue is his age. If he was to sign for Liverpool, he would be 28 by the time he arrives at Anfield. This goes against Jurgen Klopp's policy of signing young players.

Last season's Champions League finalist will have to match his wage demands and probably cough up a significant sign-on fee, which the club feels is unjustified given his age. While the German boss is open to playing more experienced men, namely James Milner and Jordan Henderson, those are two players who were already at Liverpool before Klopp arrived.

Secondly, Ramsey's fitness is a huge worry. The midfielder has struggled with injuries in north London and the Reds are not willing to offer high wages to an injury-prone player regardless of his goalscoring talent.

Klopp believes that this is down to his age, as the likes of Lallana and Sturridge started spending more and more time on the sidelines upon nearing the big three-o. This has made the German tactician wary of signing the Arsenal man.

Similarly, Chelsea has reportedly cooled down their interest in the former Cardiff starlet. Man United is reportedly keeping an eye on the midfielder and this could pave the way for an Old Trafford switch, with a move abroad also being a viable option.

While Aaron is contemplating his future, his immediate focus will be on the Gunners' upcoming game. Unai Emery's men will face none other than the unbeaten Liverpool in the Premier League. The Welshman will be working hard to earn a spot in the starting lineup after falling out of favor with the Spanish boss.
