The duel between the Argentine arch-enemies had to be re-scheduled for political reasons.

The Copa Libertadores final was a date to have in mind since the beginning of the competition. Now, with the teams playing for the title being Boca Juniors and River Plate, the two-legged tie has turned into a must-watch event for football fans around the world.

Originally, the dates for the tournament's final were set on November 7 and November 21, but with the G20 summit being held in Buenos Aires on the same week, CONMEBOL's execs decided to hold the games on November 10 at Boca Juniors' stadium. The last match of the competition will take place at River's Estadio Monumental on November 24.

The dates on their own will make this an unprecedented matchup, since no Copa Libertadores game has ever been played on a Saturday. While both teams' presidents have asked the games to be played at night to allow Jewish fans to attend the game, CONMEBOL has not shown signs of wanting to change the kick-off dates, set for 14:00 ET.

This will be the third time in history in which Boca Juniors and River Plate will play for any title. The most recent matchup saw River winning the Argentine Supercopa a few months ago.
