Ranieri pays tribute to Leicester's owner

WATCH: Claudio Ranieri pays his respects to late Leicester City owner

November 1, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
The Italian boss was sacked months after winning the Premier League title with the Foxes, but that didn't mean he held a grudge against the Thai exec.

Claudio Ranieri played a big role in Leicester City's historic 2015-16 season. His tactics, his motivational speeches, his "dilly-ding, dilly-dong" lucky charm and his relationship with his former players were crucial to see the Foxes making history. Today, the Italian boss returned to King Power Stadium to pay his respects to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who lost his life in a helicopter accident last Saturday.

Ranieri was joined by Srivaddhanaprabha's son, Aiyawatt "Top" Srivaddhanaprabha in his moment of silence. The Italian boss placed some flowers on top of the improvised altar, where all the tokens of affection from fans have been placed.

Ranieri's gesture was thanked by Leicester City's Twitter feed.

The Italian boss is currently unemployed, following his one-year stint at Nantes.
