The Uruguayan forward maintains that he is not scared,

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez insists that he is not very much bothered about his team looking for his replacement. At age 31, the Uruguayan forward still remains a force to reckon with in attack for the Catalans.

Following Suarez's arrival from Liverpool in 2014, he has formed a formidable attacking partnership with Lionel Messi. The striker has so far accumulated 159 goals in 212 appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana. His goals include a recent hat-trick in the 5-1 demolishing of Real Madrid in El Clasico which eventually took his goal tally in La Liga this season to seven.

With old age slowly catching up to the former Ajax and Liverpool forward, Barcelona is believed to be in search of his replacement. In recent times, the Blaugrana has been linked with a move for Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek. The 23-year-old forward, who was relatively unknown prior to the start of the season, has impressed massively for Italian outfit Genoa by scoring 13 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season.

In an interview with Uruguayan radio station Sport890, Luis Suarez stated that he is not surprised by the fact that Barcelona is already looking for his successor.

"It's normal [that Barcelona are looking for a nine]. I'm already 31 years old."

In addition, the ex-Liverpool striker was critical of the VAR usage in La Liga despite a call by the technology leading to his first goal in Sunday's El Clasico.

"You lose a spark," he declared.

"Even at the slightest doubt defenders raise their hands and the forward doesn't celebrate because of possible doubts. Later if they give you the goal as valid, you don't do it anymore. The adrenaline of celebrating a goal is divine, and VAR takes those little things away.

"In addition, referees don't take action even when they see a clear penalty, he argues, because they know VAR will take care of it for them.

"We have to get used to not arguing so much with the refs, not arguing against them, because that's why we have VAR. Without discussion," Suárez concluded.
