The Special One was responding to abusive chants from the away fans but ended up getting mocked for his response.

Man United and Juventus locked horns on Tuesday in what the most anticipated Champions League clash of that day. Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford once more and greeted a few pitch invaders en route to a 1-0 away win for the Italian giant.

Jose Mourinho witnessed his side stumble at home in this European competition once again, having earned a goalless draw against Valencia last time around. The result was a source for the traveling supporters to mock the under-pressure Portuguese boss, but in a similar fashion to the Chelsea draw, the Special One had a sly response.

The Red Devils boss was subject to abusive chants from the away end, being called "sh*t man" and "son of a b**ch", as tweeted by beIN Sports correspondent Tancredi Palmeri. The 55-year-old, however, hit back with a three-fingered gesture.

Jose held up three fingers in response to taunts from the fans in the Chelsea game, but the Man United gaffer was making a different reference on Tuesday. The former Inter Milan was reminding the Bianconeri supporters of when he won the treble in Serie A.

Mourinho famously led the Nerazzurri to the league and cup double in Italy back in 2010 while also clinching the Champions League title. That Mourinho side was the first and only Italian team to achieve such a feat.

The Portuguese tactician continued trolling the Juventus faithful even after the final whistle, aiming another dig at them when talking to reporters.

"They are not in love with me, the hardest time for them was our treble," Jose said, as per Goal.

"For players and technical staff, [head coach Massimiliano] Allegri and [chairman Andrea] Agnelli, I have total respect: they are super polite and friendly."

However, this move did not go down well on social media. Many slammed the Old Trafford boss over constantly recalling his past glories amid these turbulent times while others could not help but troll the manager. Check out the best tweets below.
