Man City escapes Ukrainian soil with 3 points

Man City ends Ukrainian nightmare with emphatic win vs Shakhtar

October 23, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
Pep Guardiola's had things going for them since the start, as two first-half goals were key to claim the top of the group.

The 2018-19 UEFA Champions League did not start properly for Manchester City, but consecutive wins against Hoffenheim and Shakhtar Donetsk have given Pep Guardiola's men the top of Group F in the competition.

David Silva, Aymeric Laporte and super-sub Bernardo Silva shaped the Citizens' 3-0 win against the Ukrainian side, which is now forced to win their next game if they want to keep their chances of making it to the next round alive.

What really stands out about Man City's victory in Ukraine es the fact that no other English side had been capable of doing so.

Some of Man City's players -both fit or unavailable- heaped praise on their accomplishment today, as the following reactions show.
