The Senegalese footballer broke his thumb during the recently concluded international break, but he may still be able to play for Liverpool.

Liverpool was one of the teams that will not be happy after the international break due to the large number of players that returned to their clubhouse with injuries. Fortunately for the Reds, there's cause for hope in one of those cases.

Sadio Mane ended the international break with the thumb in his left hand broken, which causes a serious problem for Jürgen Klopp. Mané was the latest addition to Liverpool's injury list, as Naby Keita and Mo Salah also picked up injuries while away on international duty. However, despite this setback, Mané may still be available to play this weekend after undergoing a successful surgery.

In a short press release issued by Liverpool, the club did not rule out the possibility of having Mané around for the aforementioned game, where Klopp's men will try to end a four-game streak without a win in all comps.

"Mane's recovery will be monitored over the next couple of days ahead of the Reds' return to action at Huddersfield Town on Saturday," the press release states.

The Senegales footballer has scored four goals in eight apps for Liverpool in Premier League games, cementing his spot as one of the best assets in Klopp's lineup. With Salah out after picking a thigh injury with Egypt, Sadio Mané's availability would be crucial for Liverpool to end their woeful form of late.
