The FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifiers kick off today, with two bitter rivals locking horns against each other.

The United States' Women's National Team will host Mexico at WakeMed Soccer Park, in what will be the first game of the CONCACAF WC Qualifiers.

The USWNT has to be named as the favorite to win, mainly due to their impressive stats and the quality of their players. Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd will lead the pack against the Mexicans, especially since they know how to damage Mexico's defense (Lloyd has scored 11 against Mexico, while Morgan has netted seven goals).

Mexico enters this competition under new management, as coach Roberto Medina will try to lead Las Adelitas to their fourth World Cup in history. Thanks to the recent creation of the Liga MX Femenil, the coach has a wider range of players to choose from, which will be led by experienced striker Charlyn Corral and defender Kenti Robles, both of them playing in the Spanish top flight.

Both of these teams will have to battle Trinidad and Tobago and Panama for a spot in the semi-finals. There are three World Cup tickets up for grabs, and both of these teams are seen as top candidates to win a spot in next year's competition.

This will be the seventh World Cup Qualifying match between the USWNT and Mexico.
The American side has won five WCQ games against Mexico, including a 12-0 victory back in 1991.
The USWNT has only allowed five goals in 28 World Cup Qualifying games.
Mexico has only managed to score two goals against the USWNT, both of them coming in their 2-1 win back in 2010.
