With two years left on his contract, Chelsea could end up losing its most-prized asset,

Chelsea's poster boy Eden Hazard has placed his future at the club in doubt with his latest statement. Currently wowing fans with consistent world-class performances, the 27-year-old forward's time with the Blues is gradually coming to an end as his old contract is due to expire in 2020.

On Saturday, Hazard was once again on the scoreboard in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool having knocked out the Merseysiders from the Carabao Cup with a stunning solo goal in midweek. While relishing the purple patch, the Belgian international has kept the door open for a move away.

Nonetheless, he also indicated that he could relatively extend his stay by signing a new contract with the Blues.

"I'm happy here," the striker told BT Sport.

"The new manager has come in and we're enjoying playing with him. So, I think to stay was the right decision.

"I am with Chelsea for now. I have two years left on my contract. I can sign a new deal – but maybe not. I don't know.

Having been asked if there's the possibility he will  finish his career with Chelsea, Hazard replied: "Yes. For sure.

"But the possibility is also that, in one or two years, I might leave.

"I like the club and I like the city. The fans, they love me. And my team-mates, I think they love me also!

"So, for me it is easy to stay. But like I say, if I leave or if I stay, I will be happy. This club is now part of my life. We will see."

Eden Hazard is currently the top-scorer in the English Premier League with six goals after seven games.
