Man United headed into the latest Premier League round with the aim of returning to winning ways and bouncing back from their shock loss to Derby in the League Cup. However, things did not go as planned.
The Red Devils traveled to West Ham, a place where they have fared well recently, in Saturday's early kick-off. However, Mourinho's men found themselves trailing 2-0 at half-time.
Marcus Rashford scored a 71st-minute goal to spark hope of a comeback, but Marko Arnautovic reinstated their two-goal lead three minutes later. Things remained like that until the final whistle, with the game ending in a 3-1 defeat for the away side.
This means Man United's winless run in all competitions stretched to three games, with this being their second consecutive defeat since the 1-1 draw at home against Wolves. This result also saw Jose Mourinho equal an awful record at the club.
The Special One has matched the record set by David Moyes back in 2013/14 for the worst start to a Premier League season after seven games at Man United. Jose's side has picked up only 10 points so far in his third season in charge which the Chosen One did in his first and only spell at Old Trafford.
Only in 1989/90 did Man United pick up fewer points after the same number of games. This was quickly picked up on social media, with many taking to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the Portuguese tactician.

10 - Manchester United last picked up fewer points from their opening seven games of a top-flight season in 1989/90 (7). Predicament. #WHUMUN pic.twitter.com/NwLpm94zcm

With the English giant struggling this season amid tensions between the manager and a few players, this result did little to earn the boss support. Check out the best tweets below.

Nowhere to hide for @ManUtd & Mourinho, especially in pink! pic.twitter.com/ZNxlS55rfZ
Plenty of these #MUFC players simply aren't good enough. A fair few of them aren't half as good as they themselves, or our fans, think they are. But regardless of what you think of this squad's ability, what's abundantly evident is that Mourinho will not get the best out of them
