CR7 gets one-match ban after red card vs Valencia

Cristiano Ronaldo escapes large ban after Champions League red card

September 27, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
The Portuguese striker's sending off raised a few eyebrows among fans and experts, since some believed the decision was not fair.

Juventus fans - and maybe some Manchester United supporters - will be happy to know that Cristiano Ronaldo has not been handed a large ban after his red card against Valencia, as he will just have to watch one game away from the pitch.

UEFA's Control, Discipline and Ethics Committee met today to determine the fate of the Portuguese footballer, and even if there was some outrage after Felix Brych's decision to send him off, the board decided to uphold the sanction, handing CR7 a one-match ban.

With this decision, the Portuguese ace will only miss next week's game against Young Boys, and if he can stay healthy, he will be able to return to Old Trafford, where he will face his beloved Manchester United.

Earlier in the season, Cristiano Ronaldo struggled to find the back of the net with his new team, Juventus. Lately, the Portuguese ace has had a hand in five goals for the Old Lady, scoring three times and assisting his team-mates twice. Now, the former Real Madrid footballer will try to open his UCL goalscoring account with Juventus in a venue that brings back some fond memories.
