At long last, football fans in Miami have been awarded an MLS franchise, and owner David Beckahm has finally unveiled the name of the team that will represent the city.
With a video posted on the team's Twitter feed, the English owner revealed that fans will be cheering for Inter Miami FC, once the team makes its debut in the Major League Soccer in 2020.
The club's official name pays tribute to the large Spanish-speaking community of the city, since its named "Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami".
Here's Beckham's explanation of the name and its inspiration.

The first step to the team's debut is done. Now, Beckham must reach an agreement with the city to build a state-of-the-art stadium to host Inter Miami's games. The city is expected to have a referendum later this year in order to approve the project to build a 25,000-seat stadium.
