Julen Lopetegui's side will aim at a third successive win when they lost Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Match Preview

With six goals and six points, Real Madrid's La Liga campaign is off to a flying start. The European champions currently sit atop the league log with one point separating them last season winners Barcelona.

An impressive outing against Getafe and Girona saw Los Blancos finish the respective games on the right end of a 2-0 and a 4-1 scoreline. On Saturday, they will hope for a third consecutive win when Leganes comes to town.

Despite Cristiano Ronaldo departing for Juventus this summer, Julen Lopetegui's side is yet to show signs of declining in their undertaking. The likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Isco and Marco Asensio have collectively stepped up to fill the void left by the Portuguese superstar, playing active roles in goals scored by the club in recent times.

The re-signing of Mariano Diaz - who will now take over the vacant No. 7 – from Olympique Lyon also comes as a boost for the Bernabeu outfit. The forward could make his debut on Saturday having trained with the rest of the squad. On the subject of debutants, Thibaut Courtois could also be between the sticks for his new side after his move from Chelsea having sat out the first two outings.

Primarily, Real Madrid will look to payback Leganes for eliminating them from last season's Copa Del Rey as a result of a 2-1 away win. The victory was Los Pepineros' first ever at the home grounds of their Madrid neighbors and although the prospect of replicating it is appealing, the cards are not the same the same this time around.

The visitors come into Saturday's game on the back of a draw and a defeat and are yet to get their first win of the season. As a result, the magnitude of a win over a club as Real Madrid cannot be understated.
