The Portuguese ace wasn't able to win the award for a third straight year, and his agent didn't hold back when speaking on behalf of his client.

Not everyone was satisfied to see Luka Modric claiming the Player of the Year Award in UEFA's ceremony. Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, shared his disappointment over the outcome of the ballot, which kept his client and friend from winning a third straight POTY award.

Speaking on behalf of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mendes had some strong words against UEFA, who apparently didn't consider all of the player's accomplishments when handing in their votes.

"It's just ridiculous, a disgrace. Football is played within the four lines of the pitch and that's where Cristiano won. He scored 15 goals, and carried Madrid on his back to conquer the Champions League once again. There is no doubt about the winner, he is the best in his position," Mendes told Portuguese newspaper Record.

Cristiano Ronaldo snubbed UEFA's Gala this season, hinting that he knew about the outcome of this ballot in advance. He did win the Best Forward of the Year category, but he failed to send UEFA a video message to celebrate his award, as other trophy winners did.
